Japhna Gold
Over the course of just a handful of independently produced tracks, Tamil-Swiss producer and songwriter Japhna Gold has gained a dedicated and highly engaged following.
Whilst working alongside his sister, Priya Ragu, Japhna Gold has caught the attention of Rolling Stone India, VH1 India, Radio 1 and 1XTRA to name but a few. Whilst his style could be described (widely-speaking) as R&B, his music isn’t like anything you’ve heard before. It’s both vaguely familiar yet completely unrecognisable.
Japhna Gold first worked with Priya in 2019, and despite slightly differing musical tastes they found their unique sound and have been working together ever since. Their debut mixtape ‘Damnshestamil’ made waves in 2021, with Priya featuring in multiple ‘best of’ lists that year as well as being shortlisted for BBC’s sound of 2022.
